This kilt pin is a representation of the claymore, which was a type of broadsword used in Scotland. The word claymore originated from the Gaelic word 'claidheamh' which means 'great sword'.
The kilt pin is made from pewter with a plated finish of palladium. This finish is as bright as silver but will not tarnish. It is also much more scratch resistant than silver.
