Dress Sporrans

Formal attire requires the wearing of a dress sporran. Decorative cantles are combined with high quality leather and skins for a distinctively ornamental, yet functional design.
The sporran is a traditional part of male Scottish Highland dress. It is a pouch that performs the same function as pockets on the pocketless Scottish kilt. The name sporran comes from the Gaelic word ‘sporan’ Made of leather or fur, the ornamentation of the sporran is determined by the formality of dress worn with it. The more elaborate dress sporrans are considered suitable for evening wear and the others for casual or all-purpose wear. The sporran is worn on a leather strap or chain.
